From one legend (Billy Connelly) to another!

So The Guardian Magazine asked me to photograph two rappers for a story about different generations and what wisdom, insights and updates they could give each other.

Here is a short conversation with my son.

“Who are you photographing?”

Grandmaster Flash!!!

“Who is he?” my son inquired

Only the godfather of Hip Hop / pioneer of scratching cutting and mixing / and basically a legend!

“Oh…. who’s the other guy”

I don’t know, some guy called AJ Tracey

“Wait, What!!, OH MY DAYS, That’s SICK!!!”

The concept of the shoot, was to use two backdrops together and have each person on a different backdrop, but have them interacting with each other. So this required quite a bit of rigging and trying to keep the lines straight.

My son came along to the shoot as my ‘third assistant’ and asked for a photo with only one of the Rappers….
